In November 2020, TikTok selected 40 Black-owned Shopify merchants for its inaugural #ShopBlack campaign. Each business's products and services were featured on the Support Black Businesses website. Then, from November 10-15, TikTok launched #ShopBlack campaign in partnership with Shopify, which invited our community to show support for their favorite Black-owned businesses via the Hashtag Challenge (HTC), custom AR effect, music, and more. Top Creators on TikTok helped to amplify this challenge across the platform to drive impact.We simultaneously kicked off the Support Black Businesses Learning Series, a 2-part educational series for the selected 40 merchants. On the first day, participants learned directly from TikTok’s Creative Lab how to leverage the TikTok platform and engage with new audiences to grow their brand. On the second day, participants met with key TikTok For Business experts to learn to leverage TikTok Ads Manager to build and grow their business using our auction. Participants received a $500 ad credit to spend on TikTok Ads Manager to jumpstart scaling their presence on the platform.
